Vdara, the only condo hotel planned for City Center, is now taking "Reservations of Interest". Preferred brokers are still available to accept reservation deposits and set contract appointments with the developer. Intimate and secluded, Vdara is expected to attract the frequent Las Vegas visitor. The studios, one bedroom suites and one and two bedroom penthouse units will be fully furnished. The $7 billion mixed-use, privately funded project will house a casino, hotels, residential condominiums and retail space. Constructed on 66 acres between the Bellagio and Monte Carlo casinos, it will be a pedestrian friendly, urban environment including hidden parking structures, roof top gardens, cafes, retailers, boutique hotels and residential condominiums along 1200 feet of the Strip. It is looked upon as a city within a city, where people will want to live, work and interact with one another. City Center has included elements designed to make it one of the world’s largest environmentally sustainable urban communities. From roof gardens and its use of reclaimed water, to the creation of a central, on-site power plant, it is being designed to promote the most responsible use of water, electricity and natural gas of any development of its size. Project City Center will be built in phases, and broke ground on Phase I in June 2006. The first phase consists of a hotel-casino designed by Cesar Pelli, which will be the project’s centerpiece and set back more than 900 feet from the Strip, three 400 room boutique hotels, 1543 luxury condo hotel units and 500,000 sq. ft. of retail, dining and entertainment space. Phase II will include approximately 2500 residential units. Though all the design aspects are not complete, preliminary renderings show a cool, modern, almost anti-Vegas look.
