WESTON -- Red Door Spas will manage the 48,000 square foot spa at the Bonaventure Resort, the resort said on Friday.

Connecticut-based Red Door has its roots in a day spa opened on New York's Fifth Avenue in 1910 by cosmetics pioneer Elizabeth Arden.

Red Door operates 43 locations including four spas in hotels, but said this will be its first entry into the "destination spa" market.

The spa, which is scheduled to open next month, is part of a $90 million overhaul of Bonaventure, which is going from a 504-room hotel to a 252-unit condo hotel operation. Ireland Companies is handling the redevelopment. The new spa will be called the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa & Lifestyle Center.
