LAS VEGAS- Hyatt Hotels Corp. has broken ground on its first property here, while Mandarin Oriental Hotels said it will manage a new hotel in the Project CityCenter development here.
Scheduled to open in mid-2008, the Grand Hyatt will be part of the 3,000-room Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino mixed use development. Hyatt will manage the project's hotel rooms, suites, and CONDOMINIUM HOTEL units. The development, which is owned by 3700 Associates led by Ian Bruce Eichner, will also include 150,000-square feet of meeting space, a 75,000-square foot casino, retail, dining, a theater, and spa.
Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas, is expected to open in the first phase of the MGM Mirage-owned Project City Center in late 2009. The development will consist of 18 million-square feet of space for a hotel/casino, retail, dining, entertainment venues, spa, and residential condominiums.
The 400-room hotel will be situated at the entrance of Project CityCenter in a 37-story tower with an entrance on the Las Vegas Strip.
