MIAMI BEACH- CMA Companies has selected Monarch Hotels and Resorts to manage the Savoy Hotel, an historic oceanfront property on South Beach.
A major redevelopment is planned for the Savoy, which was built in 1929 and currently features 72 guest suites; OLA, a restaurant; two swimming pools; and an exercise room.
Construction will begin shortly to transform the hotel into a 137-unit, luxury condo resort hotel and spa. The redevelopment is slated for completion by 2008.
Monarch named Patrick Goddard general manager of the property. Goddard most recently served as rooms division manager at Acqualina, a Rosewood Resort in Sunny Isles, FL.
In addition to the Savoy, CMA is also developing the $850 million Blue Rose Hotel and Convention Center, a condo-residence hotel in Orlando offering more than 1,300 hotel residences; a 1,000-seat Broadway theater; five internationally themed restaurants; a day spa; a conference center; and rooftop swimming pools.
